Letchworth State Park
Fall Photos
There are few places in Western, NY that showcase the truest sense of fall ambiance more than Letchworth State Park.
Fall Leaves
Letchworth State Park hosts the most vibrant of red, orange and yellow leaves in the peak of fall season. Combined with the gorge walls being covered in these warm tones, the rustic and natural layout of the park gives way to the most quintessential fall photos in Western, NY.
Lower Falls
Lower falls is likely the least commonly visited waterfall in Letchworth State Park. There are a lot of stairs, some would say a plethora. However, the rewards of conquering these aerobic inducing elevation changes are great and worthwhile. Read about my first expedition to Lower Falls here.
Middle Falls
Letchworth State Park’s Middle Falls hides one of the most interesting natural wonders in NY. The face in the falls, hidden in the water until the water levels dip below a certain height, shows what appears to be someone looking out over the gorge. Pretty cool, especially in the fall.
Upper Falls
The most iconic view of Letchworth State Park is at Upper Falls. Easy access, a massive railroad bridge spanning the gorge walls, and of course, the waterfall are all composed perfectly as you travers the path from the parking lot. During the fall season, this area brings photographers from all over the country to capture the beauty of the colors.
